Ask US Senate to Fund National Housing Trust Fund

President Obama proposed to significantly increase funding for HUD programs and to provide $1 billion to fund the National Housing Trust Fund. The National Housing Trust Fund was created last year, but without a working funding source. President Obama wants to inject $1 billion into the fund to get it operational.

The House and Senate have each passed separate budget resolutions – how much they anticipate the government to receive in revenue and how much they want the government to spend. The House cut Obama’s domestic discretionary spending by $7 billion. The Senate cut Obama's domestic discretionary spending by $15 billion. The House and Senate now have to come to an agreement on precisely how much of Obama’s discretionary spending they will cut and then allocate the funds to the different federal programs.

Ask Senators Schumer & Gillibrand to support a strong HUD budget and to support the President's proposal for $1 billion in funding for the National Housing Trust Fund.
