On May 12th at 4pm join thousands of New Yorkers who are taking to the streets for a march and teach-in about the cuts to programs that serve ALL New Yorkers. We cannot afford not to participate and make our voices heard!

Click on the following to view or download the Flyers:

Flyer 1 | Flyer 2 (english) | Flyer 2 (spanish)

Ø The homeless services sector alone has seen drastic reductions in City funding for homeless programs since FY2009---nearly $2 billion dollars in reduction of City tax levy funds!

Ø Meanwhile, New Yorkers seeking assistance and entry into the shelter system have never been higher.

Ø The City and the State have eliminated the Advantage Housing program and refuse to collaborate on a new subsidy or give Section 8 & NYCHA priority for shelter residents leaving thousands of vulnerable New Yorkers stranded without a clear path to permanent housing.

Let's give homeless New Yorkers hope and real solutions to homelessness. Please join us on May 12th and be sure to invite your staff, clients, board members, and supporters !

HSU will be meeting with other representatives from the Human Services/ Safety Net sector on May 12th at 4pm at 20 Fulton Street at the South Street Seaport.

If you want to meet up with HSU on the day of the march, RSVP to elee@hsunited.org

Thousands of people may live in a community but it is not one of real fellowship until they know each other mutually and have sympathy for one another. A true community has faith and wisdom that illuminate it. It is a place where the people know and trust one another and where there is social harmony.
